Welcome to the official website of the Bogong Cup 2008 hang gliding competition and to the Kiewa and Ovens Valleys of North East Victoria region. This will be the 20th year of the Bogong Cup and with the usual mix of top Australian and international pilots we are expecting another fun and exciting competition. IMPORTANT NOTICE:
The Andrew Mull Sportsmanship Award will be given to the pilot voted by fellow pilots as having made the Bogong Cup more enjoyable due to being a good sport during the competition. Joerg Bajewski was voted to be the best sportsman in 2007!
THIS YEAR ALL PILOTS ARE ENCOURAGED TO REGISTER WITH A 3D GPS - PILOTS "the top 20 pilots of each day must hand in their 3D GPS tracklog for checking at the download."
NEED A DRIVER? We will be advertising for potential drivers to come along to the mandatory pilot briefing. There, you may find a perfect driver.

Presentation: Saturday 19 January - 8pm onwards Prizes will be awarded in the following categories: * Open - Class 1 only *King post * Floater * Female. The most improved Australian pilot will receive the Joel Rebbechi Memorial Encouragement Award. In addition the Andrew Mull Sportman Award will be given, voted by pilots of the Bogong Cup. HGFA Membership & FAI sporting license: All pilots are required to have a current HGFA membership. Visiting memberships will be available at registration. All pilots need to have a valid sporting license issued by their national federation should they wish to acculmulate WRPS. Maps: Available for purchase at HQ $6.00 with all funds going to NEVHGC
Results: Provisional results for a task will be posted at HQ each evening and by at 8.15am the following morning (as soon as possible after the final day task).
Scoring System: (TBA). OzGAP mayl be used, if so GAP parameters as specified in HGFA comp’s manual – min’ distance 10km, nominal distance – 80km, nominal time – 90 minutes, percentage at goal – 20%.
FTV: The requirement to use FTV is only for the scoring on the national ladder.
The competition results and the results to be sent to the WPRS may choose to not use FTV.
