Competition objectives

Competition Structure

For competitors to have fun, learn, gain Australian national ladder points and/or WPRS ranking points

As a result of an FAI bureau decision, the Bright 321-2008
Paragliding Championship will now only offer one FAI Category 2 round, this round to extend for the entire scheduled length of the competition. The competition also has an HGFA AAA sanction.

There are no scheduled rest days and no reserve days.

Pilots who had only registered for 1 FAI round (under the previous arrangements) now have the option to:

1. Only fly the days that they had registered for (in which case they would only have scoring tasks for those days, and not for the whole competition),

2. Register for the entire length of the competition,

3. Withdraw from the competition and recieve a full refund of any monies deposited.

Pilots seeking further clarification on this issue are to contact Karl Texler via
brightvt@netc.net.au

Competition grades

All grades as per the current HGFA competition manual

Trophies will only be awarded in categories if there are sufficient pilots in the category. (See the Competition Manual section 3.8.2).

Awards ceremony

The awards ceremony will be Saturday 1st March, 2008 from 7pm onwards at a venue to be advised at pilot briefing.
